River Exe Location AC Valhalla And How To Reach It
Assassin's Creed Valhalla expands its open-world experience with game modes like River Raids, which take players to secluded territories across Britain. Players searching for the River Exe location often get confused because it does not appear on the main world map of England. Understanding where to find this river and how to launch a raid will ensure you do not waste time searching the wrong region.
Where Is the River Exe in AC Valhalla
The River Exe is an exclusive waterway map introduced as part of the free River Raids content update in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Unlike standard regions across England, the River Exe exists on a separate map dedicated solely to raiding activities. You will not be able to sail directly to it using your personal longship from the main rivers of your settlement.
Geographically, the river represents a distant raiding territory situated toward the western shores of England. Accessing this standalone map requires triggering specific questlines linked to your settlement's expansion in Ravensthorpe. Once unlocked, it serves as a primary destination for acquiring valuable foreign supplies and legendary gear.
How to Unlock and Reach the River Exe
To reach the River Exe, you must first advance through the main storyline until Eivor establishes the settlement of Ravensthorpe. A wanderer named Vagn will arrive at the river raid dock near the edge of your camp. Speaking with Vagn initiates the tutorial quest that unlocks the dedicated River Raid mechanics.
Interacting with Vagn allows you to open his custom tactical map, where the River Exe will be listed as an available destination. Selecting the river from his map menu prompts your crew to set sail directly for the area. You can return to Ravensthorpe at any time by using the navigation option while commanding your vessel.
Key Rewards and Locations on the River Exe
The River Exe map features several civilian settlements, military fortifications, and wealthy monasteries. Among the most notable locations is Escanceaster Monastery, located in the northeastern section of the map. Infiltrating this monastery allows players to discover a vital clue needed to advance The Legacy of Saint George questline.
In addition to unique armor pieces, raiding these locations yields Foreign Supplies necessary for upgrading your River Raid building and longship. High-tier gear chests are typically concealed inside heavy military fortresses that require full raid support to open. Managing your Jomsviking crew's health during these encounters ensures you maximize your total loot per run.
Essential Tips for Navigating River Exe Raids
As you raid locations along the River Exe, the overall river alert level will gradually increase. Higher alert levels cause enemy garrisons to reinforce their positions with extra guards and chain blockades. It is wise to prioritize high-value military bases early in your run before defensive measures reach peak intensity.
Always keep an eye on your Jomsvikings during intense battles, as downed crew members require immediate revival. Rationing your rations and knowing when to return to Ravensthorpe will keep your collected cargo safe. Utilizing Odin's Vision frequently helps identify hidden keys, cargo chests, and target doors during chaotic raids.
